Gravel Pit Reincarnation

There was a bit of an accident at the gravel pit early this fall. As gun season approached, people started to realize that something was missing after laying on their tailgates, stretching across their hoods, on the ground. Anyway, James Lettiere built this new shooting bench for Kildare. It looks sturdy enough to handle Don's arsenal. Hopefully this time, we can position it off to the side and out of the travel lane. Thanks James.

Oh Katrina

"Goodbye honey, I'll be hunting all weekend. I'll try to call if I can get a signal. Have fun with the kids this weekend. You wouldn't like it at camp anyway, with all the guys around, the noise... you know how it can be. See you Sunday."
We should probably record this quote so that all of us can play it AS WE'RE PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY.

Buckin' A

My guest, Mike Keck, shot this 6 point on the north side of Cherry Ridge on November 12th.
Chuck shot this nice 7 point on November 17th near the southern line where they logged a couple of years ago.

Cool Map

I created the topo and orthophotography from a site http://www.mytopo.com/.
I then had our graphics designer overlay a map that I created in CAD a while ago.
It still needs to be tweaked a bit, but it'll be pretty cool once finalized. I'll email it around to everybody so that you can make multiple copies and hang them in every room of your house.

Another notch on the belt

There was a big gang at Kildare this past weekend, 12 or so. Lots of laughs and great meals by Kathy. Thank God for Daylight Savings... now we'll be able to get into camp for cocktail hour before dinner. Of course, I'm not sure if cocktail hour ever ended.

Monster Buck Killed

Jimmy shot this 8 point, 2 1/2 year old, 127 lb monster buck on November 3rd, 2007. The story goes is that he was fighting with a larger 8 or 10 point buck. Only one of them gave Jimmy the opportunity to shoot, and the rest is history. Jimmy asked that the location be kept quiet, as the other large buck is still around... I forgot the name of the ridge near Brandy Brook anyway.
