The Catamount Tradition

Julie Cook sent this picture to me this morning. I haven't hiked up the moutain since 1996 or so, so it's nice to see that the tradition continues. Below is Julie's email to me... thanks Jules.
Hi Ike, I thought you might like to post one of these pics on the LK blog. On Monday it was a bit chilly. So Pete, Barb and I, led by the fearless Sir Cocoa Murphy, took the little Cooklings on a hike up Catamount. It was a beautiful day and a great "view value"...relatively short hike to a nice view. The kids loved this adventure. Pete and I haven't done that in years....well, since we were kids. Good stuff. Love, Julie

And a pinch to grow an inch

The whole fam damily was out on our trailer park pontoon boat and I caught another "keeper" northern pike. 31".

The Trump Card

We should have known that the master of Stark Reservoir would play his trump card and pull this 44 1/2" beauty out at dusk. Roger, Kate and Andie Benton just happened to be going by and were able to snap a picture of this Kildare trophy.

Holy Sh__!!!

My cousin, Jay Broadhurst, hauled in this 32" Northern Pike out of Stark Reservoir on Wednesday, August 13th. A Mepp's #5, with a silver spoon and white buck tail was irresistible for this freshwater alligator. It took me two passes with the net to land him. What a day. We thought this was one of a kind... we were wrong.
